One of the traditions we've captured from Steve is when your child turns 13 they get a LIMO birthday, so Ali has made that benchmark in her life. It was right after Hurricane Ike and we still didn't have power, but that didn't stop us. Then the Laser Tag place was closed due to no power, so we found another. Then the Limo driver arrived and he was about 6'7 and Mom decided to ride in the front with him......... :-)
BFF Alex was the first pick up, and here's a picture of all the girls with "Tiny" the limo driver.
After picking all the girls up (and getting pictures at every stop, we were off to CiCi's Pizza. Where they had Ali stand on a chair, and had the whole restaurant sing to her. In return, Ali lead the "Teen Troups" in welcoming anyone and everyone that walked in to CiCi's!! Loudly. The patrons were glad to see us leave, but the restaurant appreciated the welcome wagon the customers were greeted with........ Then back in the Limo and on our way to Laser Tag.
So the Laser Tag "War" paint came out on the ride over......
then they danced a little between games, and then opened gifts
Then the "Erkle" pose came....
Then, finally, it was over!
The Friday after Ali's birthday, we invited Family, Friends and Neighbors to a nearby park for a birthday celebration. It was good for all of us to get out of the house, and the weather was still cool, so it ended up being very pleasant.
After so many days without power, 2 birthday parties with one more to go, ya tend to get a tad "edgy"
Ali's birthday was the Thursday after Ike, when she woke up we gave her our gifts, and cards & gifts she rec'd in the mail. That evening we went to JB's Steakhouse for dinner. It was yummy.
