We had a basketball game the Tuesday we returned. Ali is in a league that is 7th grade - 12th grade, and Tuesday we played a team with a 10th grade amazon. It brings a new intensity to the game, and the first quarter we were down 0-4, by the 2nd quarter our team figured out it was only the Amazon that could handle the ball, shoot the ball, and rebound, so they became "small and pesky" and irritated the heck out of her, and we were winning by half time. We ended up winning the game, but at the end of it, the Amazon was truly irritated and started a physical confrontation with one of our girls, then the parents got into it, and it was a verbal lashing all the way around. Our coaches calmed them down, stating Cy-Fair has zero tolerance for such activities, and that pretty much ended it. Truly bizzarre! My summation was, if I was that big, and that old, and loss to younger shrimp size girls, I'd be upset too!
We had a game on Wednesday also, it was a nail biter, we played the 8th grade Goodson (a school nearby, that we'll be competing against) team. We were behind until the 3rd quarter, and then it went back and forth, we ended up winning by 1 point! We are 2-0!!!!
Jordan went to the Church lunch gathering at the Mall the Monday we got back, reunited with all her church buddies! Then Wednesday went to Beach in the Box, where they play volleyball and have prayer. Last night she went to a church concert, performing was Rush of Fools, she had a great time. She is also mentioning trying out for the church band as a vocalist, stay tuned on that one.....
Friday Jordan leaves for Yearbook camp, she'll be gone, Friday - Monday.
We also rec'd notice that soccer is soon to start, it doesn't look like we'll have our entire team back, not sure why. They also mentioned teaming up with SportsQuest and having their trainers work with our girls. We're very competitive as a "rec" team playing in the "select" brackets, but with trainers, hopefully we improve our execution & take the title!!!
As far as Steve and I, we haven't played golf since we returned, just work, work, work, and taxi the girls.
