Lordy Dougherty! Again Time flies.....

It's nearly spring and we are in that busy time of the year. Ali has joined a new AAU team, out of Aldine, called Lady Fireballers. We have girls from all over the Houston area, so we are quite diverse. Ali is playing with both of their teams, they want to expose her to a faster game, so they'll have her playing with the 9th & 10th grade girls team, and then she'll also play with her age, the 8th grade girls. The coaches will decide by tournament, so we're not sure which team she'll be playing for at the first tourney on March 20th. There are practice pictures below. Jordan is the team's photographer, they're using her pictures on their webpage, so she gets a little advertisement, plus community service hours. This will increase the beauty of her college resume.

Speaking of college..........Jordan and I went to University of Texas, San Antonio last weekend. We really liked what we saw, and are eager to see others and how they measure up. Our next stop is Denton, Texas, near Dallas, UNT, University of North Texas. There will be more, but for now, this is a start.

Jordan has applied for a couple of medical camps this summer, one at Brown University, and one at Baylor College of Medicine. They're several weeks, 5-8 if I recall correctly, the Baylor one would mean she can go to Michigan with us, the Brown one would be her not going to Michigan cause she'd still be up at Brown. We're suppose to know about the Baylor one at the end of the month.

Jordan applied for the Linda Lorrell Scholarship, which not only would it be great financially, but it is a wonderful networking avenue for her. Part of the agreement of the award, is, returning in future years, giving a speech to other applicants, and summer "Meet & Greets" a benefit that would continue for years to come. So everyone cross your fingers on this one!!
