Why is my oldest soooo excited about leaving the nest and going to college? I just don't get it. Wednesday is college night, so we get to go talk to several colleges that interest her, and have her major, which has changed to pre-med ($$$). She wants to work with the brain.... I'm sure this will change a couple more times before graduation. She is in a few clubs, that I've mentioned before, and now has joined a math honor society, and hosa honor society (Spanish honor society), she said when she graduates she'll have 7 cords.........should be interesing! Yearbook is going well, she's the sports editor, and she is still very active in taking photo's at the sporting events. Which let me throw in there, that her Cy Creek Football team is 5-0, so we're well on our way to being district champs again, and hopefully go farther.
Jordan is considering being in the talent show, she asked me yesterday, but she needs to answer that for herself.
Jordan went with Grams to Crystal's babyshower this weekend. All the kids were excited that Crystal's sister Jordan was coming, we think they were expecting a 4-year old, cause when they met Jordan, the teenager, they were not enthused!!!! Then Jordan was upset because they left before the cake was cut!! I don't think we're going to be able to talk her into being the family representative for a baby shower again!!! But hopefully there won't be one for along while, we're up to qty 5!
Ali has been on the run herself, she says basketball gets in the way of her social life, but I'm not seeing it. Thursday she went to volleyball, her Hamilton teams are very good, and it was a nail biter, but they are still undefeated this year!! Friday she came home wanting to run in the race for the cure on Saturday.........meaning, we had to be downtown by 6:30am with several thousand people. So we did, and it was a panic attack waiting to happen, the number of people, how soon you can lose your child, etc. There was good represenation from her middle school, they all had matching shirts, and all the coaches came out to support "the Cure" Ali did the non-competitive run, did the 3 miles without walking, really felt good about it, and wants to do it again next year. She ran in to our neighbors, and hung with them until we were able to find her at the end (thank god!!). next year, she runs with pockets, containing a cell phone!!!!
We had basketball practice on Sunday, with Sportscapers, it's mostly boys, but it offers her a different level of competitiveness. She really enjoys her coaches there, and those boys really test her defense skills. Offensively, she's hit some 3 pointers, and much to my surprise she drives in to the basket.............keep in mind some of these boys are over 6' tall. She's had her shots blocked, snuffed, and made - so it's a great mix. Tonight we go to Alodia basketball, where she's on the fall team, where the first tournament was cancelled, we're suppose to have another one this weekend, I hope it happens!!! All this practice, would like to see how we're doing competitively. And school basketball starts mid-November.
Cross country is still going on, we've had 2 meets, the first she was 27th, last week she was 18th, so improvements are being made weekly. Plus it's starting to cool off, Ali does better when the sun is not beating down so bad.
Report cards come out in the next week, so keep your fingers crossed. jordan was struggling with Pre-Cal and HistoryAP, but she thinks she pulled out a B, WHAHOO!!!
