Where have I been?

you may be asking, or not, but I've been running pretty good, the end of school year is always super busy. In addition to that, my HDD crashed on my home computer, that has all my pictures. It was ALL my pictures that made it fill up, and unable to fully boot the system, not enough room to run windows, just kept trying in a continuous loop....poor thing. We changed our 300MB HDD for a 500MB. He was able to transfer and save everything (Thank GOD!!) so I have some cleaning to do on it still. It's physically here, but not up and going yet. Pictures coming soon.

But what else is going on, you ask? well....

Jordan
Jordan was voted for Vice President of the Future Business Leader of America club for next year. She and her friend Bradford are VPs, co chairing, but with completely different sets of responsibilities. Jordan is in charge of recruits (membership) and speakers. We already have a few at HP that said they will come to speak, and my friend there is in charge of the YEN group at HP, Young employee network, so we'll tap into that for about 5+ more speakers, all different areas of corporate life. Jordan also wants to ask the owner of the coffee shop we go too, alot, she's 26 and has two stores, so we thought she could speak on being a business owner, and going out on her own. So she's going to ask her. We also thought the strategy of pre-submitting questions to the speakers would be good, so this venture should be interesting!

Jordan was also awarded/voted for Yearbook's Sports Editor for next year. She rec'd her yearbook about 2 weeks ago, and it's pretty impressive how many pictures she has credit for in the sports section (and several in the entire book). Next to her name in the back is a listing of where she's in pictures or rec'd photo credits, and she has a 5 line paragraph next to her name!! For revenue towards the yearbook class, Jordan and I were thinking about selling some of the photos taken at the sporting events, so they're going to think about that. I think I'll have Jordan get with the computer science kids, and co-develop a web site, they can buy a picture or they can buy the .jpg file for a cheaper rate and print their own pictures. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? How pay pal works? What price is fair for just a .jpg, what would you pay for a sports photo of your child? All input is appreciated. Wouldn't it be nice for Jordan to put this revenue venture on her college app, shows her business leadership skills coupled with yearbook loyalty!

Jordan had the FBLA banquet last Friday night, they all went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner, then back to her friend Bradfords house where her and Bradford did a powerpoint presentation of pictures throughout the year, and she photoshopped award pictures for everyone in the group and they showed those! They had a good time, and Jordan rolled in around 10:30 - 11:00.

Jordan had graduation parties to go to on Saturday, she started at 2:00 and didn't get home until near midnight! She rode to the second one with Zac & AJ and their family, I was nervous of all the partying that occur at graduation parties! and it was an unknown area for her to drive to, and in the dark, so she just drove to Zac & AJs and then they drove her from there. We have a curfew here of midnight for anyone under 18, so she was getting a little too close to it for our liking! The curfew is law enforced, they'll take her license if caught, so that was wayyyy tooo close. She got up on Sunday went to church, then back in the afternoon to partake in some skits for the regular service.

Ali
Ali has had a couple more tournaments she's been in. We're running to practice on Mondays and Wednesdays. She's got ALOT of basketball going on right now. She's signed up for training/skills camp, and it will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, so Ali will be in basketball 5 days a week. I'm very excited about the training/skills camp, it's 18 sessions, 6 weeks of intense training, with one instructor to 4 girls, that is a VERY low ratio, and great training. I've talked to a few people that went last year, and they gave rave reviews. One lady told us her daughter could not dribble well, she's nearly 6' postand probably never HAD to dribble, but anywho, she learned how during the camp, and made Varsity squad that next year. There's another girl on the team that was a swimmer, and liked to shoot in the driveway, so her parents took her to the camp, she is a 3-point shooting machine! She went out and made JV that next year, she doesn't swim anymore! So, I'm hoping for good results, I asked for shooting assistance, I'd like to see Ali develop a jump shot, as well as better form/consistency on her 3 point shooting.

Ali had a tournament this past weekend, and she has "pulling the charge" down now. She drew 2 fouls on the offense by her wonderful dramatic roll of taking a charge, falling down, and grunting loud. The only problem I had was, she was fearless, and took on a girl that was a foot taller, and 50+ pounds heavier.....she didn't get stepped on, and they called the foul on the girl, so all went well!!

They had their end of the year soccer party last weekend. It was sad, because the whole team is disbanding. I believe I mentioned it earlier, but it's a sad day. Ali went to the party, then Alex and her family took her to the Dynamo's game, then they had a sleepover and got up and went to church the next morning. When they returned, Alex came over and the girls swam for about an hour before the downpour hit. The next day we saw the replay of the Dynamo game, and Ali spotted herself on TV, she was thrilled!!

School is out on Wednesday, Ali is thrilled!! Jordan would be thrilled, except she's exempted from most of her finals, so she doesn't go to school Monday or Tuesday, and then back for one class final on Wednesday (yearbook). So she feels like she's already out of school!!
